The FATE Initiative

Our Mission:

no-cost
food allergy training.
for all.

The F.A.T.E. Initiative (Food Allergy Training & Education) is a nonprofit organization committed to providing FREE training and education on the awareness, prevention, and management of food allergies and related allergic reactions. Our programs (called Forums) span various sectors—including schools, daycares, flight attendants, first responders and public care—but we specialize in the restaurant, hospitality, food retail, and packaging industries, drawing on our founder’s decades of experience in these fields.

As a definitive source for this training, F.A.T.E. is transforming into the preeminent platform for food allergy education for all industries, in multiple languages.

Our Mission

FATE’s initiative is simple: to train and educate everyone about the deadly consequences of anaphylaxis caused by food allergies—presented in a way that is simplified, yet detailed and concise. And most importantly, accessible.

Our Impact

FATE’s initiative has reached countless establishments, businesses, and industries—including schools, care facilities, camps, private clubs, professional sports franchises, and, most importantly, restaurants and the hospitality sector. Our impact has been felt around the world by those directly affected by food allergies, as well as by individuals who previously had little to no knowledge of the physical, mental, and emotional effects of food allergies before engaging with our forum.

6

CORE FORUMS

There are six individual courses - what we call FORUMS - which focus on the impact of food allergy in your establishment or place of business.

20

LANGUAGES

FATE’s Digital Forums are currently being transcribed and translated in multiple languages and will be soon available in Arabic, Cantonese, Farsi, French, German, Greek, Ilocano, Ilonggo, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

0

COST

FATE’s initiative is free; we do not charge a fee for our training forums. Because why would we charge anyone a cent, to teach them how to save a life?

Our Forums

FATE’s initiative circulates around our training and education courses - we call them Forums. Each ‘FATE Forum’ is tailored to the specific needs of the offered category. FATE specializes in foodservice and hospitality as our founder is a former chef & restaurateur, however, we encourage all individuals and businesses of all industries to consider our forums, even if it may not be directly correlated. The fact is, everyone eats!

Our forums contain the same four core pillars to support each specific category: our story, the science of food allergies and its reactions, awareness and the preventative measures and actions to be taken. This ensures us to relay messaging that is impactful, though-provoking and most importantly, empathetic.

our story

We begin each forum with our story. Where we came from, the tragedy which brought us here, and why we have chosen to become impactful advocates.

awareness

Awareness holds many meanings especially when considering the different applications of our forums. Our forums offer thought-provoking conversation about being aware of food allergies in different scenarios; school settings, foodservice, public-care, and even in the privacy of your own home.

Science

We believe it’s important to break down the science of food allergy - what it is, what it isn’t, how things happen, and what the consequences can be. We simplify these explanations while keeping it detailed and concise.

preventative + actions

We believe it’s just as important to know the actions to take to prevent an allergic reaction, as it is to take in the event of an allergic reaction. We explore many different scenarios in conversation and role-playing during each form to ensure a clear understanding of these reactions are managed swiftly and accordingly.
